Writing a Useful Greeting for Your SMP
Give invited players a recognizable world description without treating a greeting as an access rule or an announcement to everyone.

Find World Greeting
Open World Settings → Advanced and find World Greeting. It is the menu label for your world’s message-of-the-day property. Write a short sentence that explains the place or the way your group plays.
For example: “Oakvale builders — ask before borrowing and leave farms tidy.”
The World Greeting setting with a short SMP description.
Keep it readable
Use a short name or invitation rather than a wall of rules. The friend tooltip has limited space and is easier to scan when the greeting complements the world’s status and player information.
Save the choice and follow the next-start behavior for the setting. Check how it appears to a permitted friend after the world is ready.
A permitted visitor sees a recognizable greeting in the friend’s world tooltip.
Separate description from access
A greeting does not add a player to a whitelist or grant World Visits. A friend’s world information is shown through the supported permission-aware flow when the owner is online.
Use access settings for who may join, and explain detailed house rules directly to your group.
